Cookie and Device Storage Notice
The browser technologies PaperTrader uses and how to control optional analytics.
Last updated September 5, 2026
What this notice covers
This notice covers cookies and similar technologies that store or read information on your device, including browser local storage and session storage. A cookie is a small text file stored by a website. Local storage can remain after a browser session, while session storage normally ends when the relevant browser tab session ends.
PaperTrader sets its authentication cookies directly. After you accept Analytics, the PostHog software used by PaperTrader creates first-party analytics storage under papertrader.app and sends analytics data to PostHog EU. PaperTrader does not currently use advertising, social-media, or cross-site behavioural-tracking cookies.
Your choice
Necessary storage supports a service you request and remains active. Optional PostHog analytics and privacy-masked replay start only after you choose Accept analytics. Rejecting analytics does not reduce core access. Use the persistent Cookie settings control to change your choice at any time.
Necessary cookies
papertrader_session— PaperTrader; signed-in authentication and access; HTTP-only; up to 30 days.papertrader_guest_session— PaperTrader; signed guest access and the accepted Terms version; HTTP-only; up to 30 days.
Necessary and requested local storage
papertrader.analytics-consent— remembers Accept or Reject, decision time, and notice version until changed or cleared.papertrader.analytics-deletion-pending— after withdrawal, temporarily keeps the PostHog identifier and consent record reference only until the server has durably queued the deletion request.papertrader_guest_session:*— legacy guest paper wallets, simulated trades, positions, and token details created before guest mode became read-only; until cleared or imported.activeWalletId:*— remembers the selected paper wallet; until cleared or the related browser data is removed.papertrader.findCoins.*,papertrader.trading.*, and achievement/account-icon keys — requested interface preferences and local progress; until cleared or replaced.papertrader.guest-banner-dismissed— session storage remembering a dismissed guest warning; until the browser tab session ends.
The live-presence identifier exists only in page memory, is not written to browser storage, changes after a full page lifecycle, and expires from the server-side live set no later than 60 seconds after activity stops.
Optional analytics storage
papertrader.analytics.attribution— PaperTrader; first referring domain and limited UTM source, medium, and campaign information used to understand how a visit began; session storage; created only after Analytics is accepted; until the browser-tab session ends or Analytics is withdrawn.ph_*_posthog— PostHog EU through PaperTrader; a pseudonymous analytics identifier, opt-in state, and related analytics context; local storage; created only after Analytics is accepted; until Analytics is withdrawn or the browser data is cleared.ph_*_window_id,ph_*_primary_window_exists, andph_*_session_registered_properties— PostHog EU through PaperTrader; coordinates the active analytics tab/session and keeps session-scoped analytics context; session storage; created only after Analytics is accepted; until the browser-tab session ends or Analytics is withdrawn.
These patterns cover provider-generated names that can include the PaperTrader PostHog project token. Their purpose is to understand page use, selected feature interactions, deployed errors, and privacy-masked sessions. Replay is retained for 30 days; raw analytics events for no more than 12 months.
What replay excludes
PaperTrader disables autocapture, canvas capture, request bodies and headers, and masks text and inputs by default. Wallet addresses, transaction signatures, authentication material, message content, and other designated sensitive fields must not be captured. Production verification is required after tracking changes.
Browser controls
You can also block or clear storage through your browser. Doing so may sign you out, remove preferences or legacy guest progress, or cause the consent choice to be requested again. Browser settings do not replace the Cookie settings control for withdrawing consent from PaperTrader.
Technologies PaperTrader does not currently use
PaperTrader does not currently use targeted-advertising cookies, social-media tracking cookies, Flash cookies or Local Shared Objects, or tracking pixels in marketing emails. If that changes, PaperTrader must update this notice and obtain any required choice before the new technology starts.
Updates
This inventory reflects the reviewed source as of September 5, 2026. PaperTrader must update it and request a new choice before introducing a materially new analytics purpose, provider, data category, or more intrusive tracking method.
